Pelargonium Appleblossom Rosebud. Perfectly named. Such beauty.
This cultivar has been around for over 100 years. It grows well, with plenty of flowers, but needs lots of sunshine to provide a strong colour. My plant was at the shady end of the greenhouse, which is why it is a greenish-pink. But I love the delicate folds and pink-tipped flowers. They are perfect for flower arranging, lasting a week in water. It’s one of my favourites. This plant came from my Mum, but I can highly recommend Fibrex Nursery -holders of the national collection of pelargoniums- at Stratford, Warwickshire. Their mail order service is first class. I can spend many happy hours gazing at their gorgeous catalogue. http://www.fibrex.co.uk and on Twitter @FibrexNurseries
Delicate colors… Could be a nice wedding bouquet …

Still flowering in the greenhouse today. Such a joy when it’s only 2 degrees.

I agree, a perfectly named beauty. The subtlety of the colour/tints makes it more desirable to me ….

I would keep that placed just where it is! Perhaps it is capable of more color, but it is not capable of being lovelier. The jam jars must feel honored.

Oh my…I’m not a big Geranium fan but I’d buy that in a heart beat.

thank you for your comment. Much appreciated. I must admit, I didn’t used to like them. But this one is special somehow. It is in flower nearly all year round ( in a heated greenhouse – my little indulgence).

In South Florida there are flowers blooming year round. Now live in North Carolina and it seems flowers are only a spring time thing and most don’t last more than 2 or 3 weeks. Thanks for your recent visit to my blog.

I love the look of this one and its variegated relative. I’ve not grown either yet, but have often seen them for sale at the flower shows.

Oh my goodness, Karen. I can see why this flower is one of your faves. It’s truly beautiful even when grown in the shade.
Take care, Laura

thanks for your comments Laura. They are much appreciated. I’m taking cuttings today to overwinter, so that’s how I managed to take that photo. I just noticed them, and thought how beautiful they are looking this summer. All the best- Karen
