In a Vase on Monday.

I dashed home from work – and it was still light. Hurray! These photos were taken at 5.52 pm. This week I found some delicate apricot blossom. Four stems, displayed in my mother-in-law Joan’s cut glass vase. Such beautiful flowers. They seem to need no other companions.

These flowers will be a fleeting beauty. The weather has turned cold and windy. Snow fell yesterday but didn’t settle. I expect there’s more to come. Meanwhile, I’ll bring my vase indoors. Such pretty flowers will cheer up my kitchen table- and me.

  1. Karen the apricot flowers are delicate and charming, I love them, they are divine, and in the vase of your mother-in-law they look magnificent. I’m sorry you’re going cold and snowed and I was 18ºC. Put on a lot of warm clothes and keep warm. Love and health and strength for your family and for you. Take care. Loving greetings from Margarita.

    • Thank you Margarita. I’ve put extra layers on now. So chilly here again today. But I’m managing to keep warm. Loving greetings to you and your family. Take care. Karen x

  2. Such a pretty blossom Karen. Companions would only distract from its beauty. Although I’m no longer working I can remember the joy of coming home after work and still having precious daylight time to see the garden. Not long to go now until we spring forward 🙂

  3. Beautiful spring setting. I love the simple beauty of it. I’m as excited as you are that the days become longer! Soon we will be able to indulge in all the magic coming up from our soil! Enjoy! Greetings from a rainy Netherlands.

    • Thank you. You are right. The hawthorn hedges are coming into leaf. In fact everything is starting to bud up ready for leaves. Can’t wait. And then I want it to slow down, so I can enjoy it! Greetings to you all in the Netherlands. x

  4. Oh! Apricot blossoms was one of the candidates for the official Town Flower of Los Gatos (although I still prefer cat tails). Apricot tree is still considered one of the more popular candidates for the official Town Tree. Most of the local orchards that were here decades ago were apricot. Prunes were the second most common
