Suddenly, there’s blossom and flowers everywhere. Sunny 17C days. Cold 1C nights. In the cut flower patch, there’s rows of double narcissi Bridal Crown and Winston Churchill. Single daffodil Geranium is a favourite. Wonderful in a vase. Highly scented. They seem to shout “spring is here.”
Tulips are a few weeks early. I hope there’s some to come for Easter. This one’s new to me. Exotic Emperor. Double creamy white with green feathering. A glorious sight at dawn, all covered in tiny beads of dew.
Above the cut flower beds, a plum tree spreads it’s branches. Such a wonderful sight on a beautiful sunny morning.
My plot is edged by a bank of wild cherry trees. There’s Tenby daffodils at their feet. Small and simple. They look “right” in their semi-wild setting.
Looking up, I can hear the bees working the pollen. There will be plenty of cherries this year.
I hope you’ve enjoyed a walk around my garden today. What flowers and trees are you seeing today?

OOOH, someone else likes white too! or maybe it is just coincidental. I know that plums do not offer many options for bloom color. Well, white rox anyway; my favorite color.

Such a lovely white post. The narcissi are gorgeous. Are they tall growing?

Thank you. They are tall enough for cut flowers, if that helps. Can highly recommend the geranium ones. I picked a huge bunch for my mum today, added dogwood twigs, willow, blue hyacinth and cherry blossom. Such a pretty bouquet and highly scented. Thanks for your kind comments.

So beautiful – a symphony of white in your garden. I particularly like your new tulip and the bank of wild cherry.

Thank you. I’m so thrilled with that tulip. I picked a huge bunch of them for my mum today. They opened out flat like peonies or orchids. So pretty at all stages.

Thank you Cathy. Blue skies make such a difference. Aren’t we having wonderful weather. Hope it doesn’t turn arctic like last year. xx

Thank you the light at dawn was amazing. It was just like a summers day, all mist rising from the fields and the cows steaming in the sunshine.

‘Such bounteous beauty: I love the view through the blossom and out to the fields. About your cutting patch as I am starting one myself. Do you leave the bulbs to naturalise in there and just plant other things on top, or do you lift the bulbs after they’ve finished? I’m not a fan of bulbs that have to be lifted!

Hello Jane. I love that view too. You can leave them in to naturalise. They build up each year. Just don’t plant them any where near onions or shallots, or you risk poisoning as it’s impossible to tell the difference between the bulbs. Enjoy 😊

Karen I’m glad you have good weather and good temperature. Your flowers are magnificent as your photos and say “Spring” because it is already Spring. Your double daffodils Bridal Crown and Winston Churchill I like very much, they are beautiful. Daffodils Geranium are lovely. The Tulip Exotic Emperor is a jewel. I love the plum flowers. How wonderful to have your whole plot surrounded by wild plums! No wonder the bees are so happy. It’s a treasure! Karen this year you’re going to eat lots of plums and lots of plum jam. 🙂 Thank you very much for the walk through your beautiful and wonderful garden, I have had a great time. That you enjoy your garden very much because it is unique. Thank you very much for the links, they are very interesting. Love, health and strength for your family and for you. Take care and rest. Have a very good week with good weather. Loving greetings from Margarita.

Thank you Margarita. I’m going to visit my Mother tomorrow. The weather is wonderful at the moment. I’m still keeping warm, though. Still being careful not to take off too many layers and get a chill. Enjoy your weekend. Loving greetings from karen xx

Karen give your Mother memories of me when you go to see her. Today finally! It has rained a bit in Madrid, but it’s not cold at all, 18ºC. But I will follow your kind advice not to take off layers so as not to catch cold. You do not take them either. Affectionate greetings and memories of Margarita.

There will be fruit this year (promising year …) if there are no frosts in the coming days … the cold snap coming from the north next week is to be feared …
Nice photos in bloom Karen !

Thank you. They are my favourites too. I’ve just taken a huge bunch to the care home where my in-laws now live. Taking spring indoors – with all the twiggy stems just bursting into growth. Thanks for reading
