A self-seeded pot marigold, Calendula. While I fuss over and struggle with more exotic plants, this is a reminder that beauty sometimes just happens.

Really? Iphone pic? Sure came out great!
I love the ones (flowers that is) which have the darker tips and backside. They look amazing when they’re half open and yo get all the different color shades.

Thanks for your kind comments. Yes, only an i-phone. Just was on my hands and knees weeding when I looked up and there was the flower bud. So beautiful, from underneath. Lucky I was weeding there 🙂

it’s one of my favourite plants. Especially when it comes up from nowhere and does that. It’s the little surprises that keep me gardening

that’s so true. I’ve battled all summer with my sweet peas, and then just noticed them growing wild where I planted them last year. Honestly. I give up 🙂
